~ Heart Breaking TVC ~

Found two TVCs from Thai Life Insurance. They're real touchy. I mean they're heart breaking. I was sobbing at the end of the second one. I know... pethetic! Anyway see if you would feel something at the end of the two.

The doctor as the narrator: One lady begged me to deliver her baby before the due date. When I asked for the reason, she said, "because our time is running really low". After the 2 hour labour, she held her baby and disappeared.

One man was dying because of the brain tumour. The thing was that he should have given up and die long ago. During our lifetime, we often ask ourselves of the reason why we were born and what to live for.

The baby was in the arm of his dad in time. Maybe this question doesn't need to be answered... Who do we live for?

The dad on the video talking to his baby boy: Little one, take very good care of mum. Love mum a lot. I love you very much too. I really love you a lot. Take very good care of mum, son.

The dad as the narrator: Puifai is the first miracle of my life. The first day I saw her I promised myself that I would love and care for her forever.

The mum talking to the dad: She...she's pragnant. Keep it cool.

The daughter: Dad, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry... *sob sob*.

The dad talking to his daughter: I love you, and I will love your child, too.

The dad as the narrator: I never forget the promise I made that day.

Thai are so good in advertisement but I prefer when they put it on the comic and not the pathos.

Sure I feel something very special as a father of a young boy (3 years) when il watch this video but I feel also the great mnipulation behind.

Give us our money and you will be a good father....

They are attempting to connect strong emotions to their brand name as their western counterparts had done before (e.g. HSBC, Benetton). More like a subliminal, "We'll be there for you" slogan ... but then again with insurance please read the fine print ;-)

Heh, I don't feel compelled to buy the insurance at all, but yeah, the ads touched me.

Saturday morning, and I am in tears. Probably more because of Korbua's translation which helped me understand what i was watching. Otherwise i dont understand a word of Thai and probably would have wondered what all the drama was about.:-))*lol*
Korbua, no more videos like these over the weekend, please! Or i will be going to the weekend dinners and clubs with puffy eyes...*lol*
